I dislike spoiling this story because it’s genuinely a bit of a tear jerker in what is otherwise a jolly Mario game. It’s also one of the saddest as it’s told in the format of a children’s picture book and is all about Rosalina’s search for her mother. By entering the Observatory’s Library after defeating the Boss of each area, Mario is able to hear what soon turns into one of the most touching stories ever seen in videogames. Whilst this sounds pretty normal for a Mario Bros game, Rosalina is soon revealed to have a backstory. In particular he needed to find all the Grand Stars, that would provide enough power to make the Comet Observatory move to the Centre of the Universe, where Bowser is hatching his latest nefarious plot. She offers to help Mario if he can help find the Power Stars that power her spaceship, the Comet Observatory. She appears to Mario who rescues a baby Luma. Rosalina débuts in Mario Galaxy rather early on. She’s only been in, like, 5 games since her debut in Mario Galaxy, but that’s ok. I figured I’d go deeper into the character’s past and dig up some interesting facts about her. The Mother of the Lumas is the fifth Mario character to join the Super Smash Bros.
